This short tutorial aims at teaching new bloggers how to make words in your post into active links that lead to other websites.
The screenshots show you the Wordpress post writing interface. 1. Create a post and write your sentence in the text writing: ![]() 2. Using your mouse, highlight the word or words which you want to change into an active link: ![]() 3. Once the word is highlighted, the linking button in the toolbar becomes active and available, so click it now: ![]() 4. Your page turns into pale white and becomes inactive while a small pop-up window comes up and asks you for the URL (web address) to which you want to link: ![]() 5. Enter the URL (web address) of your choice - remember to retain the http:// in there. Since this is a tutorial for beginners, this is all you need to do. Ignore the other parameters for now and click "Insert" when you're done. ![]() 6. That's it! You now have an active link in your post that your users can click on. ![]() 7. In case you want to remove the link: highlight the word again and click on the link breaking button:
